Fraud Alerts
As your mortgage loan servicer, Rushmore Loan Management Services LLC (“Rushmore”) is fully committed to providing you with high-quality customer service at all times. We will work with you to meet all your loan servicing needs, to the fullest extent possible.
To that end, Rushmore wants to make sure you know that unfortunately, there are people out there who wish to commit mortgage servicing fraud, and/or to perpetrate scams on unsuspecting customers. These individuals tend to seek out customers who may be having financial difficulty, such as problems making mortgage payments.
There are many different types of fraud or scams through which you could potentially become a victim. One example is that you may receive a call from an individual, and that person may claim that they are calling from Rushmore. They may know your name, and they may even know some information about your loan. They may tell you, for example, that your home is going to be sold at a foreclosure sale, and that the “only” way to stop it would be to pay this individual money, so that they can “stop the foreclosure.”
You should NEVER pay money to anyone unless you have confirmed that it is actually your loan servicer, and unless you are sure how the money you are paying will be used. If you receive calls like the one described here, or if you receive something in the mail, please refer to Rushmore’s website, which is www.rushmorelm.com. You can find our contact information on the site, and you can reach out to us to confirm whether a call, mailing or letter that you received is real, or is in fact a fraud or scam.
Rushmore’s Customer Care number is toll-free: our number is (888) 504-6700. Do not pay money to anyone until you have reached out to Rushmore directly.
In the event that you find yourself having difficulty with payments, it is important that you take action by contacting Rushmore directly – or you can contact a housing counselor- to find real options to avoid foreclosure. A number of agencies provide free counseling services to homeowners who are having trouble making ends meet. Please refer to Rushmore’s website to find out more information. These agencies can help you explore your options, which may range from modifying your loan, to refinancing your loan, to selling your home and using any equity
to start over.
It is our mission to help you, and to try and protect you from people who may wish to take advantage of you. We are here to help!!
